Get Small: Reframe eLearning Design is an interesting article on creating learning to improve soft skills, which I find particularly relevant for my work with teaching students how to effectively job search and create job search documents.

Many factors come into play here such as duration, content, learning outcomes, processing and cognitive load which should be considered from a design perspective.  The key here is understanding the end user and designing eLearning which will engage and motivate them. Breaking the process down into smaller pieces and having an individual understand one step/concept at a time (and becoming effective at it before adding more) helps to build a strong foundation for success.
